Description

We are looking for someone who wants to work with wildlife management and is interested in handling both moose management and large predators.

You have a good understanding of the boreal ecosystem as a whole and how species interact and affect each other, as well as how humans impact natural systems. You are a curious problem solver who enjoys unexpected challenges and you work according to the state's core values. You are a good diplomat when needed and a straightforward bureaucrat when that need arises, and you never compromise on the rule of law.

Responsibilities

In this job, you will meet people from various interest spheres regarding wildlife issues. Hunting and wildlife issues can be controversial, and you may encounter strong opinions on various matters, but you can always feel secure in working in accordance with laws, regulations, and directives.

You will handle cases related to hunting, compensation, grants, registrations, permits, and more, and you will present cases to the wildlife management delegation. You will be part of a case handling group that collaborates and supports each other towards common goals.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Knowledge of wildlife, hunting, and nature conservation through an academic degree or experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.

Meritorious

  • Previous experience working with wildlife issues.
  • Experience working with GIS.
  • Previous experience in wildlife case handling or within a government agency.
  • Experience in government work.
  • Hunting license.

Conditions

The County Administrative Board applies a six-month probationary period.
